Maira Kalman- The Inauguration. At Last.

Hallelujah for the vast sea of nearly two million people holding madly fluttering flags in the bright noonday sun. For being smart again. And sexy again. And optimistic again. And while we are at it, Hallelujah for the Fortuny tea gown also on display in the museum which is a total knockout.
I love the artwork of Maira Kalman and was thrilled to find her work via the NY Times Opinion section entitled "And the pursuit of Happiness" The Inauguration. At Last. Check it out online! An illustrated version of the inauguration and events surrounding it.

I love these as you know. The sea of flags is one of my favorite memories from the day.
