Clementine Cat

 

Don't be shy - smell the citrus - it should smell fresh and, well, citrusy.  Lemons should smell like lemons, and clementines should smell like clementines, which is to say, pretty much like oranges.  In the photo above, Scratchy makes sure the clementines are acceptable.

They are.

Found this image randomly while looking up clementines- love! Plus I thought the text was so sweet! Cats and clementines, possibly my two favorite things of late!

Love the painting above of the model Gemma Ward. Reminds me of when we saw her shopping at Whole Foods with her mom on the LES. She was gigantic in an ape-like sweater and I couldn't get over how tall she was! Check out Tom's painting of Gemma here

BTW we also saw Daria Werbovy at the same Whole Foods on a different occasion. What's with the Whole Foods attracting models like flies? Must be the Evian and Greek yogurt...

...but we love him just the same. We pass a lot of horses in the pastures on our walks in Chilmark. Here's one I managed to zoom in on- paparazzi style. Great race in Pimlico!

ok I had to sneak one more painting in here! The Giro d'Italia cycling race is going on now through the end of the month and travels all over Italy from Venice to Rome, fantastico! I'd love to be there to follow the race! For now I can only catch clips online and paint giant red tomatoes in sympathy of all things Italian! Que Sera Sera

First dip in the ocean!
ok maybe just our feet took a dip but yesterday was beautiful! The sky opened up for the first time in weeks and the ocean was icy cold. It felt wonderful! Can't wait for summer...

Happy Mother's Day!

Sending you flowers on Mother's Day!
We walk by this flowering shrub regularly and the smell is so intense, even from 15 ft. away! It grows in the shade of a big cedar tree right next to an open field of green waving grass- divine! Although I can't give these smells and sights in person I'd like to send them out to you so you can enjoy them for Mother's Day!

Fiddlehead

The fiddleheads are popping up all over the island! I was photographing my little fiddlehead drawing and Tom's new portrait and loved this image of them together- looks like the fiddleheads are popping out of her head!
