The Voice

Finally sat down and watched a full episode of 'The Voice' and was surprised at how enjoyable it was to watch. Not that the singing was amazing or the performances spectacular but the dialogue between the judges (crap jacket!) ('I almost pitched my panties!"-Blake), the critical feedback ('the staging just looked evil!'-Blake again) and the desire to look up the original artists and songs was irresistible. A few of my favorite songs covered:

The Smashing Pumpkins

Peter Gabriel

Thelma Houston

Adele

What surprised me the most was the ease with which the real artists sing their songs. Completely comfortable and at ease, as if wandering around or taking their voice for a stroll.. unlike the contestants on 'The Voice' who often seem forced or approach screeching and screaming or are even just plain out flat. There is such depth, subtlety and control in the original artist's voices... I suppose it just made me appreciate the real 'voice' even more :P
Plus I love the dance moves in that Peter Gabriel video, I'm seriously going to be dancing around my living room like that for the next week :D
Hope you like the music!
