Memorial Day Weekend

Photogrpahing outside added so much depth to the piece and made it more of an actual object instead of just an image on a screen! Really enjoyed how all the photos came out, especially this one, I'm not quite sure how to put it in words but there's a stopping to breathe feel about it, a stateliness or pause, I find it incredibly soothing to look at!

We also had the chance to make coleslaw for a memorial day party we attended and I couldn't resist the red and orange action!

NYC Art Trip Part 1
We took so many photos and there's so much to share that I think I'll have to post in parts!

First a huge thank you to our incredible student Tabitha who flew in from South Carolina and brought so much energy and openness to new experiences that it made the trip as light as a feather and puffy as a cloud! She was the perfect solider for our frontal assault on NYC. No retreat and no surrender! The Met, The MoMa, The Frick, The NYC Public Library, Hunter Graduate Studios Open House, all on foot and that was just day one! And yes that is the carousel in Central Park with Tabitha riding the painted pony!

When we arrived it was pouring rain, there were tornadoes in the South and Tabitha's flight was delayed. We found shelter from the rain at Eataly with a cappuccino, surrounded by eye candy and people watching.

After a quick dump of the bags at The Jane we headed out to gallery night in Chelsea and open MFA studios at SVA. By that time the rain had stopped and the light was ethereal.
Our first happen by was the Picasso- Marie Therese exhibit @Gagosian where they forcefully took our bag and gave it back on the other side. We were immersed in a crowd of fellow viewers whose returned bags at the end of the viewing were from Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior, ahem you know what I mean. The sordid love story of Picasso and M was followed the next morning by the fairy tale love story of Prince William and Kate M which we watched on tv from the Jane... our view:

We both teared up a bit and I don't think it was from the lack of sleep the night before!

Tout est dans l'attitude
"Candy Cole"
"Ruffles"
"Carla Lavazza"
I'm enamored of Tom's new gold frame! It completes the work and adds an air of elegance. Here we are testing out different portraits although it was always meant for Carla Bruni and her lavazza moment. We saw an iconic photo of her while sipping our lavazza at Eataly, NYC (where we'll be headed if your joining us for our NYC trip!) and couldn't get over the cocky attitude. .. "Tout est dans l'attitude".
