First a huge thank you to our incredible student Tabitha who flew in from South Carolina and brought so much energy and openness to new experiences that it made the trip as light as a feather and puffy as a cloud! She was the perfect solider for our frontal assault on NYC. No retreat and no surrender! The Met, The MoMa, The Frick, The NYC Public Library, Hunter Graduate Studios Open House, all on foot and that was just day one! And yes that is the carousel in Central Park with Tabitha riding the painted pony!
When we arrived it was pouring rain, there were tornadoes in the South and Tabitha's flight was delayed. We found shelter from the rain at Eataly with a cappuccino, surrounded by eye candy and people watching.
The Mother of Espresso machines!
After a quick dump of the bags at The Jane we headed out to gallery night in Chelsea and open MFA studios at SVA. By that time the rain had stopped and the light was ethereal.

We both teared up a bit and I don't think it was from the lack of sleep the night before!
More to come! View more images from Eataly here.
Continue to Part 2!
